Amir Jahangir

A strategic communication & media professional. Honored as the Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum for his work on initiatives to improve the state of media and its co-relation with governance & development issues.

He is the CEO for Mishal Pakistan and has launched the flagship program for Pakistan’s media development by bringing press clubs, journalist’s associations and academia on a common platform, identify gaps in issues impacting the society. The initiative has brought more than 35,000 professionals together to understand the socio, economic and political challenges and their impact.

He is also the founder of Media Development Trust and AGAHI, not-for profits working on improving the state of media in the region. He is also the co-founder of Pakistan’s first journalism awards, the AGAHI Awards for journalism excellence and the TRUST GOLD MEDAL for best public interest communication strategies in Pakistan. His efforts have introduced new beats in the Pakistani media i.e. Innovation, Shared value etc.

He also manages Pakistan’s partnership with the World Economic Forum and earned the title of the most innovative strategist for improving Pakistan’s ranking on development indicators.

He has served as Advisor to the Stanford Center of Innovation and Communication at Stanford University on Journalism and Media. The Festival of Media, Valencia ranked him among the top 10 media personalities in the world.

Earlier has was worked as CEO for SAMAA TV as well. Earlier he has been part of the launch team of the Competitiveness Support Fund, a joint initiative of US and Pakistan governments.

He was also the board member and CEO for CNBC Pakistan. At the age of 31, Jahangir was the youngest CEO for any CNBC franchise in the world

Jahangir is a frequent speaker at international forums including the World Economic Forum, World Bank, Harvard, Stanford and other universities.
